Location & Arrival

Constance is the only German city on the southern bank of the Rhine. Today's university town was the meeting place of the Council of Constance (1414-1418) and the seat of bishops until 1827. Witnesses of its rich historical past include the council building and the Romano-Gothic minster. The hostel, completely renovated in 2001, is in a former water tower with adjoining buildings, in the northern suburb of Allmannsdorf.

Arriving by public transport
Constance is the last station on the Offenburg to Constance (Konstanz) Black Forest Railway line. At the station, take a number 1 bus to the "Allmannsdorf" stop or a number 4/13 bus to the "Jugendherberge" ("Youth Hostel") stop. It's just about 15 minutes from the station.

Arriving by car/bus
A81 (Stuttgart-Singen) and the B33 (Singen-Konstanz). Turn onto the L220 towards Meersburg. Then follow the signs to the "Jugendherberge" ("Youth Hostel").
